In close cooperation with the NMHH Children's Protection Internet Roundtable (of which the President is a member), we would like to inform you about the release of the NMHH's publication entitled Hurting Others is Not Cool (Mást bántani nem menő), which addresses the issue of online harassment/abuse (cyberbullying) threatening minors.
According to research, one in six
15-to-16-year-olds has already experienced online abuse, making it
extremely important to address the issue of cyberbullying. During
cyberbullying, the three conditions of harassment apply just the same:
the abuser conveys strong, negative content to the victim, repeats this
activity regularly, and does so by flexing their power. On the internet,
this often happens anonymously, making hurtful comments without a face
on various social media sites, or sharing an unflattering photo or
perhaps a montage they created of the victim. Online abuse is one of the
most common internet hazards that children can encounter online.
