In March 2020, Gyerekaneten.hu was launched, an information site by the NMHH for parents, structured as a glossary.
The website aims to translate and briefly explain the digital world—where children seem to navigate with confidence—to the generation of parents through short entries. It highlights the dangers and risks, but also explores what children enjoy online and why, while providing advice for making conscious decisions in complex online situations.
The site covers many areas, from algorithms to fact-checking, but its main goal with its choice of topics is to encourage parents to talk to their children about online issues for which there are no simple answers.
Gyerekaneten introduces, among others, popular social media sites from Ask.fm to youtube.com, online threats from phishing to ransomware, along with related self-protection solutions, but also covers the phenomena of online dating and the world of video games.
